‘Petty’ Petitions
I came across this petition on change.org and i was, well, baffled.
And so i sent them a “report abuse” message.
Firstly, The pronoun used to describe india is female, when it could very easily be neutral, which would be less discriminative towards a specific gender. Secondly, Legalising same sex marriage is giving people the rights that they already possess under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which India, as a country representing itself at the United Nations, has signed.
Article 16 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights clearly states:
(1) Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.
(2) Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses.
(3) The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.
Nowhere in this text does it specify that marrying a human of the same sex is not legal, nor does it list it as a punishable offense. We seem to be the largest democracy in the world, is this what we’re really made of? Are we a country that, because it offends someone, or may offend an invisible entity in the sky, that nobody can prove exists, takes away the rights of perfectly good taxpaying citizens who have the added advantage of existing.
They are actually among the more intelligent of our nation, for you need a high amount of intelligence, one would assume, to admit to yourself and to the world that you, presumably unlike most of the rest of the world, have an affinity towards people of the same sex. Marriage is considered a sacred meeting of two souls. Not the meeting of two contrasting sets of genitilia. It’s about time we get rid of people with an intellectual age akin to that of an eight year old, like those that wrote and signed this petition.
I would understand if this petition was based solely on opinion, which is a pathetic base for anything in the history of the universe, although this one is a pure gem. It says no animals exhibit homosexuality, which is clearly utterly wrong. More than 1500 species of animals exhibit homosexuality, more are being discovered as i type this. 1500, coincidentally, is also the number that exceeds the number of functioning neurons in the brains of the population of india against the LGBT community.
Gay marriage is great, for the following reasons. It increases rates of adoption, something we need because the next indian Nobel laureate, of which there are few, could lose his future to being an orphan roaming the streets of india, without food, without shelter, and without an education, or childhood. It decreases the rate at which the population is growing, I doubt we need more people in the world right now. It gets India an inch closer to being a true democracy.
I request heavy policing of this website, because we have people signing serious documents and i see this website, as a weapon of mass transformation and i mean the good beneficial kind of transformation. The time you have given to read this awfully long message is appreciated.“

Although this would make a minimal effect on the world, it does make a difference.
